Introduction
The Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra was created in 2019, it is a full symphony orchestra led by Music Director Gianandrea Noseda. The orchestra has been resident at the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia from its first edition in September 2019.
You can apply if you are between 18 and 28 years old, with some experience in orchestra playing and born in Georgia or one of the other countries of the region. If you are selected, you will be invited to perform during 4 weeks in an intense orchestra training program.
If you are selected, you will be invited to perform during 5 weeks in an intense orchestra training program.
Georgia is an exciting country full of beauty and culture. The Tsinandali Estate, situated in the magnificent Kakheti Region, has now been developed into a Cultural Center with two concert halls, museum, hotels and restaurants, all in the midst of a big beautiful park.
Every year, in September, the Tsinandali Estate holds the Tsinandali Festival, with two concerts per day, many international artists and the resident Pan Caucasian Youth Orchestra.
Audition Programme
For all instruments except timpani and percussion:
2 pieces of your choice (or movements of pieces) of different character and period, for a total of about 10 minutes.

Sight-reading
For violin, viola and cello: one of 2 pieces has to be a movement from a Bach solo work.
For woodwind instruments, it is possible to play 1 of the pieces on an additional instrument (Piccolo, English Horn, Eb clarinet, Bass clarinet, Contrabassoon).
For timpani and percussion, you will be asked to play some of the following program, scores available to download:

What is the Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra (PCYO)?
The PCYO is the leading training orchestra for talented young musicians of the following countries: Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Ukraine.
The orchestra performs the major repertoire for large symphony orchestra with world class conductors and soloists.
In 2022, the total period of participation in the orchestra will be 4 weeks (Aug/Sept 2022 – see schedule below).
In the first two weeks there will be lessons and rehearsals with principal musicians of world leading professional orchestras.
In the following two weeks there will be rehearsals and four concerts during Tsinandali Festival 2022.
Application, participation and all costs (travel, accommodation, meals) will be paid by Tsinandali Festival.
How to become a PCYO member?
The PCYO is open for musicians who are between 18 and 28 years of age and born in one of the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine.
